Russell Alan Monroe, CPA, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois, and the National Society of Accountants.  He has served on the IAAI state board of directors for three years.  He has served as IAAI state president, 1999-2000, vice- president, 1998-1999, treasurer, 1997-1998,  secretary, 1996-1997.  He was also on the state board of directors for three years.  In addition to his service as state officer of IAAI, he has also served the local chapter, Southeastern, as secretary, vice-president, and president.  He has served on various chapter committees as well as committees on the state level.  In June of 1996, Alan also received the highest honor given by the IAAI when he was named the IAAI person of the year.  Alan graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a bachelors degree in accounting in 1982.  He also has an associates degree from Rend Lake College that he earned in 1980.  

Russell A. Monroe, EA, is also a member of the IAAI and NSA.  He is an enrolled agent and an accredited tax advisor.  He is a past chapter president, vice-president, and secretary of the IAAI.  With this certification as an Enrolled Agent he is able to represent tax payers before the Internal Revenue Service in case of audit or other correspondence.

Russell and Alan both are continuing their learning processes, as to maintain the credentials and licenses that they currently have, they are required to maintain certain levels of continuing professional education.  They attend tax seminars and other conferences and seminars yearly to keep abreast of the changes that occur in the accounting and tax preparation fields.

In addition to attending seminars, Russell and Alan have both taught in various seminars.  They have taught numerous subjects including ministerial income tax preparation, which is one of their specialties. 

Alan and Russell are also each bi-vocational ministers.  Alan is pastor of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Fairfield, Illinois and Russell is pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church near McLeansboro, Illinois.
